Pragtige klein Carli is Lize en Paul se eerste babatjie. Hulle is sulke kalm en ontspanne ouers dat mens dit nooit sou kon raai nie! Carli was vir die eerste sewe dae van haar lewe die rustigheid vanself, maar toe sy hierdie vreemde vrou met haar kamera sien het sy besluit dat dit tyd is om bietjie daai stembande te oefen. Gelukkig weet ek al wat om van hierdie klein mensies te verwag en met ‘n bietjie geduld, ‘n bietjie ektra melk en baie ekstra liefde en drukkies, kry mens wel die ding gedoen.

Dit was heerlik om saam met julle te werk en julle lieflike klein engel te ontmoet – ek het nog foto’s op ‘n Facebook album ook gelaai. Geniet dit!

Phillippa and Gareth tied the knot late on a beautiful autumn afternoon at the magnificent De Huguenot Estate. The ceremony took place with the majestic mountains as a backdrop and we got to do the more formal portraits in the warm light of the sun starting to set.

The wedding was a very relaxed and happy affair, with family and friends cheerfully mingling in the gardens, waiting for the gorgeous bride to arrive. Phillippa and Gareth did not want a lot of formal portraits and preferred us to focus on capturing candid shots of the ceremony and all their guests. They make such a beautiful couple though, I could have worked with them all day!

My very talented sister, Rennette, joined me as second shooter for this wedding, and though all the images have my watermark, half of them was taken by her. Soon they will form part of our portfolio on a separate website we are working on which will be dedicated exclusively to wedding photography.

Ek het Tania in my universiteitsdae ontmoet – ons was in dieselfde koshuis en ek was haar groot vriendin se “koshuisma”. Dit was so lekker om haar weer na al die jare te sien en om haar pragtige gesin te ontmoet!

Zani is die pragtige eersteling van Zelda en Riaan en sy is tot onlangs rondgedra in hierdie stylvolle magie. Sy was nege dae oud op die dag wat ek opgedaag het vir haar eerste fotosessie. Sy was aanvanklik heel rustig, maar hoe meer goed ek uitgepak het, hoe groter het haar oë geraak, en teen die tyd wat ons haar klere probeer uittrek het, was sy goed omgekrap met ons! Foei tog, dit was omtrent ‘n stryd om haar rustig te kry en al wat sy eintlik wou doen was om knussies in iemand se arms te lê en haar dummy in vrede te suig. Gelukkig is Zelda en Riaan baie rustig, so met ‘n bietjie geduld kon ons darem die ding gedoen kry!

Ek wil net byvoeg dat Zelda een van die mooiste ma’s van ‘n pasgebore baba is wat ek al gesien het – kan julle glo dat sy nog net meer as ‘n week gelede swanger was? Wow!

Ek het Riane en haar pragtige gesin sommer een weeksmiddag by Radloff Park ontmoet vir hulle gesinsfoto’s. Haar skoonsuster, Mariet en klein Mila en saamgekom vir die geleentheid. Wat ‘n mooi klompie kinders is hulle nie! Christo was nie heeltemal oortuig dat hierdie fotonemery vir hom lekker is nie, maar ‘n bietjie balgooi en ‘n paar paaseiers en alles was darem nie verlore nie.

Rhea’s 1st Birthday Party | Cape Town Photographer

Rhea had a beautiful and fun-filled party to celebrate her first birthday. Family and friends came together at their Sea Point home to celebrate the joyous occasion. Her mother decided on a rainbow theme and what a brilliant idea! Everything was fabulously colourful and her attention to detail was amazing. I absolutely loved the girls’ rainbow outfits and that eight-layer rainbow cake was just gorgeous. It was quite a task to choose just a few photos for this blog post as everything was so much fun to photograph.

Ek het Erna en haar gesin een Sondagoggend by die Helderberg Natuurreservaat ontmoet vir ons fotosessie. Klein Luke was nie baie lus om stil te sit vir hierdie besigheid nie, maar speel-speel het ons wel die ding gedoen gekry.

I met Zelda and Riaan on the exquisite Lourensford Estate for their maternity photoshoot. At the time of the shoot, their little girl, Zani, was due to arrive in two short weeks. Doesn’t Zelda look gorgeous? They were the perfect couple to work with and took me all over the farm to find a variety of locations for their photos.

The Venus Collection

The Venus Collection is a series of photographs of women inspired by the play, The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler which has now also been translated into Afrikaans.

The images show a variety of women photographed in natural light, just as they are. All women are beautiful and unique and I see special aspects of each individual in every photo.

Melandri is ‘n lieflike klein dogtertjie wat stroopsoet en geduldig toegelaat het dat ek met haar rondvroetel sodat ons daai oulike lyfie van alle kante kon afneem. Mag sy altyd so ‘n rustige klein engel bly!
