Families

Erne and family | Stellenbosch Family Photographer

I met Erne on the wine estate where they live just outside of Stellenbosch. On the day of the shoot, she was less than a week away from giving birth to her second child – doesn’t she look beautiful? Her sweet little boy, Stian, was a real star and very enthusiatically played along. I can’t wait to meet their little girl!

The Beart Family | Stellenbosch Photographer

I met the Beart’s at their home in the Winelands and enjoyed an hour of fun and laughter with them. They were so relaxed, friendly and fun-loving, that it made my job even more enjoyable than usual!

Julie’s Extended Family | Stellenbosch Photographer

A few hours after I did Julie’s family shoot, we met up again – this time at her mom’s house at De Zalze. It was the first time in years that the whole family managed to get together, so family photos were definitely in order! I arrived just as they were finishing their Sunday lunch and everyone was jolly and relaxed – and with 8 children all under the age of 5, relaxed was just the way I wanted it! We decided to take all the pics at the house, as it would have been a huge mission to get all 19 people to a different location – especially after that lovely lunch :)

Julie’s Little Men | Stellenbosch Family Photograher

You might recognise Julie and her oldest two boys from this shoot I did for them a year ago. This time around, they were joined by the newest addition to the family, cute little Matthew! We met up on a Protea farm high up in the Helderberg mountain, with breathtaking views over False Bay. It was a cold morning, but after a solid week of rain, we were so relieved to see the sun shining that a little cold air were definitely not going to deter us!

Tori and Scarlett | Somerset West Photographer

I first met the Westvig”s almost two years ago, when Tori was only four months old. She’s now grown into a beautiful little two year old and was also joined by the newest addition to the family, seven month old Scarlett. What an adorable pair they are! Their parents are truly blessed with these two precious little girls.

Family at Deer Park Cafe | Cape Town Family Photographer

I’ve known the Cloete’s since I was six years old, so it was with great excitement that I made the trip into town to take some relaxed and casual photos while grandparents, children and grandchildren spent some time together on Easter Sunday. It was a lot of fun to watch the interaction between all the different members of the family and the four little boys are totally adorable. It was great to see you guys, hope you enjoy your images!

Audrey’s Family | Stellenbosch Family Photographer

Audrey contacted me to organise a shoot for her whole extended family – parents, four children with their partners, as well a seven grandchildren! It’s her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary this year – a perfect time to celebrate love, life and family! They all managed to get together on a Sunday afternoon in Somerset West and these are a few of the resulting images.

Karin’s Family at the Nature Reserve | Somerset West Family Photographer

I first met Karin and her family about 18 months ago when I did a shoot for them just before Christmas in 2009. I love meeting up with old clients and to see how their children have grown! Kai and Anja are such a friendly, well- behaved and charming pair – it was a real treat to spend some time with them. Here’s hoping that I haven’t seen the last of you yet!

One Little Girl and Another on the Way | Paarl Lifestyle Photograher

I first met Elanza and her family two years ago, when I took photos of her while she was expecting Jana. I then did another shoot when Jana was about a week old and was lucky enough to be invited back to photograph Elanza’s second pregnancy! They are expecting another little girl and I’m sure she’ll be just as cute and beautiful as her older sister. We did the shoot on their farm just outside of Paarl en Jana just loves having the run of the place. I’ll be going back there once the little one is born, so watch this space!

The Van Zyl’s in Grabouw

I met the Van Zyl’s at their lovely home in Grabouw. The latest addition to their family, little Mia, was four weeks old at the time of the shoot. Off course, a new set of family photos were in order! Mia usually is a very sleepy and relaxed baby, but she was not happy with my plans for her morning at all! She tried to sleep through the first part of the shoot and was quite happy to be handled by her mom and dad, but as soon as my attention turned to her and her alone, she got fed-up with the whole process. But I persisted and managed to get most of the shots I was after! Her brother on the other hand, was a real little star and very happy to have me follow him around with my camera in hand. Here are a few of my favourites.

Arenda’s Family Shoot | Somerset West Lifestyle Photographer

Family at Kirstenbosch | Cape Town Family Photographer

Megan contacted me to book a shoot as a gift to her mother for her 60th birthday. We decided to meet at the beautiful Kirstenbosch  Botanical Gardens and we were lucky to have a little bit of cloud to block out the harsh summer sun!

The Steenkamp Family in Paternoster

Family Shoot at Spier | Stellenbosch Lifestyle Photographer

Justine phoned me a while ago to organise a shoot for the whole extended family at Spier. We were very lucky to have exceptional weather, with no wind for a change! Despite them being such a large group, they were very easy to work with. Hope you like your photos!

The McKenna Family | Cape Town Lifestyle Photography

The McKenna’s are from the States, live and work in Madagascar and spent some vacation time in South Africa. They originally booked me for a baptism on the beach more than a year ago. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to make it in the end and had to ask my very talented friend, Louis Hiemstra, to step in for me. I was thrilled when I received an email a while back, telling me that they were back in SA on holiday and would like to have another family shoot done. We originally planned another shoot on the beach, but Cape Town’s weather being as temperamental as it is, we had to postpone and ended up going to Kirstenbosch instead. It was a real pleasure to finally meet them and spend a little time getting to know their very cute children.

The Liebenberg Family

Sunet is a very old friend of mine – we started Grade 1 together and 12 years later, we matriculated together. I hadn’t seen her since her boys were born, so I was very excited when she booked me for a shoot during our recent trip to Bloemfontein! Her boys are lovely – full of smiles and so easy to work with – and it was a lot of fun to spend a few hours with them. Ek hoop ek sien julle gou weer, geniet die foto’s!

The Steytler Family

Tiekie contacted me to book a shoot for their three totally gorgeous boys. I met them at their home in Welgemoed for a little bit of fun in front of the lens. I loved capturing these three lively and expressive faces!

Andro | Cape Town Family Photographer

Andro came from this bump and is a very patient and relaxed little guy. He and his brother are very handsome little guys and I’m sure they’ll get up to lots of mischief together when they’re a little older!

Lelanie’s Family Shoot | Cape Town Family Photographer

It was early one Sunday morning when I met Lelanie at their beautiful home in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Her two little ones where quietly waiting for my arrival and behaved like true angels!

Another family of five | Cape Town Photographer

One of the things I like about my job, is that I get to meet really lovely people on a regular basis. These are some of those lovely people and it was so much fun to spend some time with them. The children were so well-behaved, adorable and beautiful, it made my job ridiculously easy!

Gill and family | Somerset West Family Photographer

I met Gill and her family at the Helderberg Nature Reserve. They wanted to have a proper family shoot done, before all the children went back to their own lives and in fact, her one son was due to travel back to the UK that very evening. Your children are never too grown up and it is never too late to have family portraits taken!

And baby makes 5 | Cape Town Baby Photographer

Suzanne recently gave birth to her third beautiful little girl and I went to their home in Durbanville to capture the new addition as well as the rest of the family. They are such awesome people and I had a great morning with the five of them. Apart from the pictures I took in the house, I set my stand and backdrop up in the garden and used only natural light to capture these images and I really like them!

Family in Franschhoek | Cape Town Portrait Photographer

Frances originally contacted me a year ago to book a family shoot, but due to unforseen circumstances, she had to cancel. I was delighted when she contacted me again this year to re-book. Here are a few pics of her three gorgeous children.

Patricia and family |Somerset West Family Photographer

This family of five is the nicest group of people I have met in a really long time! Patricia works for Helderberg Hospice and she won one of my vouchers at a Somerset West Business Network meeting. The voucher couldn’t have been won by more deserving person and it was a joy and a privilege to spend some time with them.
